-從事實(shí)驗(yàn)室的實(shí)驗(yàn)工作，包括：構(gòu)建蛋白質(zhì)表達(dá)系統(tǒng)、蛋白的表達(dá)和純化，使用各種生物化學(xué)方法對蛋白質(zhì)進(jìn)行分析檢測。遵循標(biāo)準(zhǔn)操作程序，符合質(zhì)量控制標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
-承擔(dān)所負(fù)責(zé)項(xiàng)目中實(shí)驗(yàn)方法優(yōu)化，包括：實(shí)驗(yàn)設(shè)計(jì)、執(zhí)行及結(jié)果分析、實(shí)驗(yàn)報(bào)告撰寫等。
-文獻(xiàn)查閱整理分析，了解時(shí)新研究動(dòng)態(tài)，撰寫各類報(bào)告。
-參與公司團(tuán)隊(duì)合作，共同完成科研項(xiàng)目，開發(fā)新的體外診斷試劑檢測方法。
-協(xié)助公司生產(chǎn)部門完成試劑盒生產(chǎn)和質(zhì)量優(yōu)化。
-協(xié)助公司技術(shù)支持工作及產(chǎn)品注冊。
-維護(hù)實(shí)驗(yàn)室安全健康的工作環(huán)境，協(xié)助日常實(shí)驗(yàn)室管理。

任職要求：

-博士學(xué)歷，方向?yàn)樯锘瘜W(xué)、生物技術(shù)、分子生物學(xué)等相關(guān)專業(yè)，應(yīng)屆畢業(yè)優(yōu)先。
-熟練掌握生物化學(xué)或分子生物學(xué)相關(guān)專業(yè)的理論知識(shí)和專業(yè)技能；具備一定的生物化學(xué)或分子生物學(xué)相關(guān)的科研經(jīng)歷。
-有較強(qiáng)的邏輯思維能力，能對實(shí)驗(yàn)方案進(jìn)行評估和計(jì)劃。思路清晰，對實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果有較強(qiáng)的分析總結(jié)能力。高度關(guān)注細(xì)節(jié)，能及時(shí)發(fā)現(xiàn)實(shí)驗(yàn)執(zhí)行過程中出現(xiàn)的問題并及時(shí)糾正。

Biotechnology Scientist

The Company
RSR is a well-established developer and producer of medical diagnostics with key applications in autoimmune thyroid disease, type 1 diabetes mellitus, neuroimmunology and other autoimmune diseases. RSR also provides high quality reagents for medical diagnostic manufacturers. The company’s products are exported to overseas markets including the European Union, the USA, Japan and China. The company has a long history of cutting edge research in particular on the interaction between autoantigens and autoantibodies at the molecular level. These are presented at scientific meetings and published in scientific journals.

The Position
The Scientist will join a dynamic team working on projects related to autoimmune thyroid diseases, type 1 diabetes mellitus and neuroimmunological diseases at RSR's Laboratories in Cardiff.  The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues on production of key reagents for manufacturing assay kits for detecting autoantibodies.  The Scientist will collaborate with production teams to ensure the best performance and quality of the kits. The Scientist will be expected to join in Research and Development activities of the team. This will include improvements and adjustment to existing products, developing new assay systems, developing new technologies, in depth studies of the characteristics of the key reagents and the opportunity to join in collaborative projects with academic institutions and other organisations.

This is a full time, lab-based position for a scientist with excellent practical laboratory skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail and interest in scientific advancements.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of protein expression constructs

• Expression and purification of recombinant proteins

• Characterisation of proteins using a wide range of biochemical methods

• Performing and analysing assays

• Designing strategies and working on new assay development

• Cooperating with team members and reporting to the Team Leader/Supervisor

• Cooperating with the production departments

• Complying with Quality Control standards

• Following Standard Operating Procedures

• Maintaining accurate records and preparation of reports

• Presentation of work at meetings (internal and external)

• Keeping up to date with the scientific literature

• Assisting in preparation of scientific publications

• Assisting in responding to customers' queries

• Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment and complying with Local Rules and Health and Safety rules/policies

• To be aware of and report all hazards, incidents and potential incidents relating to safety

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

• Recent PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or a related subject

• Excellent practical laboratory skills (essential)

• Experience in molecular biology, protein chemistry and bioanalytical methods

• High level of attention to detail

• Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and succeed

• Ability to work in a team and cooperate with work colleagues

• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)

• Good interpersonal skills

• Experience with IT packages (especially Word, Excel and data processing software)
